The VA Portland Health Care System (VAPORHCS) in Portland OR is actively recruiting to fill a Board-Certified Staff Urologist Physician (BE considered) to help care for our Veterans - American's Heroes. We are looking for a team-oriented urologist who can provide general urology services and will happily consider a urologist with fellowship training or special interest in endourology, prosthetics, andrology, reconstruction, or urogynecology. Selected candidate will be considered for a faculty appointment at Oregon Health & Science University (OHSU) and will be involved with education & training of urology residents as well as other trainees. VAPORHCS, located in Portland, OR is a level 1a highly complex VA hospital and is part of VA Pacific Northwest Network (VISN20), comprised of eight health care systems and 46 community clinics serving 1 million veterans in Alaska, Idaho, Oregon & Washington. You should be board certified/eligible in urology surgery through the American Board of Urology (ABU) or the National Board of Physicians & Surgeons (NBPAS), and a US citizen with current US licensure (any state) with no history of revocations or suspension. Non-citizens may be considered if no US citizen is selected. Our team is comprised of six full-time urologists, four full-time advanced practice practitioners, and three urology residents. We have access to state-of-the-art technologies in and outside of the operating room.VAPORHCS is a major teaching and research site closely affiliated with Oregon Health & Science University (OHSU). VAPORHCS hosts about 2,000 health professions learners annually and ranks in the top 10 nationwide among VAs in research grant support, with over 170 investigators in basic science, clinical, and health services research and over 1000 active protocols. Urology at VAPORHCS is proud of our commitment to research, with several team members being grant supported researchers. The urology surgery service provides patient centered, state of the art urology services for the VAPORHCS at the VA Portland hospital campus. VAPORHCS provides a full continuum of inpatient, outpatient, long-term, and emergent care, serving over 100K veterans per year. Recognized as a Magnet Facility, VAPORHCS is a 1A complex facility with tertiary care referrals and is also a liver and renal transplant center serving veterans across the western United States. The urology surgery service provides care to veterans undergoing a wide range of surgical and non-surgical procedures.The ideal candidate must be strongly motivated to provide the highest level of clinical care for veterans and world-class education and training for trainees and students. We are looking for a team-member who can help with general urology but would encourage candidates with special interests/fellowship training in endourology, prosthetics, andrology, reconstruction, or urogynecology to apply. An OHSU academic appointment will be commensurate with experience.Work Schedule: Full-time, plus night/weekend/holiday home call with resident coverage.
