Demonstrates proficiency handling mice for in vivo studies and necropsy. Demonstrates proficiency in handling samples including embedding, microtome sectioning and coverslipping for downstream histology assays. Optimizes, troubleshoots, and performs tissue-based assays (H&E, Trichrome, Sirius red, IHC, ISH) with limited supervision using the Leica Bond Rx or similar automated staining platforms. Operates bright field and fluorescent mode microscopes for digitization and QCs of slides. Represents histology group in project team meetings and provides guidance for follow-up experiments while strictly adhering to timelines. Independently manages multiple overlapping work assignments with frequently changing priorities. Effectively communicates and presents results in the context of team and department goals both orally and in writing. Strictly adheres to company policy regarding data integrity and record keeping. Strictly follows corporate safety, quality control and quality assurance policies. Complies with all local and federal regulations. Maintains a clean and organized work area. Experience: Bachelors Degree Previous Histology research experience is required. Experience with IHC and/or ISH is required. Ability to autonomously operate laboratory tissue processing and staining equipment is required. Demonstrates concise and accurate reporting of experimental data and interpretation thereof. Proven problem-solving ability. Must have previous experience working in a research or clinical lab setting.
