Respiratory Therapist | Permanent Role Location: Waco, TX 76712 Shift: 12 HR Nights | 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM Guaranteed: 36 Hours Compensation: Based on experience. Responsibilities: Administer respiratory therapy modalities, including mechanical ventilation, aerosol therapy, and oxygen therapy. Monitor and assess patients' respiratory status, making necessary adjustments to therapy plans. Collaborate with physicians and nurses in evaluating patient progress and response to treatment. Respond rapidly to emergency situations, including Code Blue events, to provide life-saving respiratory support. Maintain and troubleshoot respiratory equipment and ensure proper documentation. Educate patients and families on respiratory care treatments and self-management techniques when appropriate. Key Success Factors: Solid understanding of respiratory care practices, therapies, medications, and equipment. Ability to follow clinical protocols and read/interpret flow charts. Effective critical thinking and problem-solving skills. Proficient computer skills and accurate documentation abilities. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, especially under pressure. Qualifications: Education: Associate's degree in Respiratory Therapy or equivalent OR 2 years of experience above the minimum required. Experience: Less than 1 year of respiratory therapy experience (new graduates welcome). Licenses & Certifications (Required): BLS Certification - Must be obtained within 30 days of hire or transfer. Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) - Licensed by the Texas Medical Board. Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) - Credentialed by the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC).
