Must be able to work full-time (40 hours/week) throughout the duration of the 16-week co-op (August 2026 - December 2026).ResponsibilitiesAs a co-op, you will work with staff engineers to manage equipment reliability and perform analysis and design of transmission lines and structures, protection and controls systems, and physical/electrical components within Duke Energy's transmission system. You will be placed in program tracks such as Transmission, Distribution, Project Management & Construction (PMC), Regulated and Renewable Energy (RRE), or Grid Planning Studies, with opportunities to engage in design, planning, operations, asset management, or project management activities as described below.Transmission: Transmission Engineering manages the design, assessment and analysis of substations and transmission facilities. Preferred Majors: Electrical, Civil, Mechanical, Engineering Technology.Distribution: Distribution Engineering manages the design, operation, and planning of the grid. Preferred Majors: Mechanical, Civil, Electrical, Industrial & Systems Engineering, or Construction Management.Project Management & Construction (PMC): Responsible for building new power generation assets including renewable solar, bulk energy storage, turbines, and other technologies.
