This full-time hybrid position at the Sisters of St. Benedict monastery in Ferdinand, IN, is a vital part of the Mission Advancement team. The Senior Development Manager leads our annual giving program and helps grow the resources that sustain our ministries. Reporting to the Executive Director of Mission Advancement, this senior role is both strategic and hands-on, ideal for someone who loves both data and building meaningful donor relationships. Key Responsibilities Direct mail & annual fund (40%) Oversee strategy, vendor management, and creative direction for a $2.5M direct mail program Manage 12+ annual campaigns including acquisition, renewal, and specialty appeals Optimize performance through segmentation, A/B testing, and cost-reduction initiatives Stay current on industry best practices and competitive benchmarks Data & performance reporting (25%) Build dashboards and reporting systems for real-time fundraising visibility Produce monthly revenue and retention reports and analyze key donor metrics Strengthen data quality, segmentation, and custom queries to support stewardship Provide strategic insights and recommendations to the Executive Director Design upgrade and retention programs to move donors from annual to major gift giving Manage lapsed donor reactivation and identify major gift prospects through research Support stewardship activities including major donor cultivation and gift delivery Participate in signature events including the Women of the Rule Luncheon and St. Hildegard Dinner Operational excellence & strategic partnership (15%) Improve workflows, manage vendor contracts, and support technology solutions Serve as a strategic partner to the Executive Director with data-informed recommendations Collaborate with the Major Gifts team to ensure smooth donor progression Represent Mission Advancement in cross-departmental planning and initiatives Requirements Bachelor's degree in a relevant field 7-10 years of progressive fundraising experience, with a focus on annual giving and direct mail Proven track record growing revenue in multichannel programs generating $1M+ annually Proficiency with fundraising CRMs (Raiser's Edge preferred) and strong data analysis skills Experience with list management, segmentation, and vendor negotiations Excellent written and verbal communication skills Fundraising certification (CFRE, CFRM) preferred or willingness to obtain one Schedule & Location Hybrid schedule with flexibility for remote and onsite work Standard weekday hours, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM EDT Occasional evenings or weekends for a small number of annual events Limited out-of-area travel for professional development Health, dental, and vision insurance Short-term and Long-Term disability insurance Optional life insurance and cancer insurance 403(b) retirement plan with employer match PTO that rolls over each year, plus paid holidays Employee Assistance Program (EAP) Professional development opportunities, including association memberships and conference travel Discount at the Monastery Gift Shop The Mission Advancement team operates within the broader community of the Sisters of St. Benedict, where staff are valued as more than colleagues.
