Certified Nursing Assistant - In-Home Care - $13/hour Arlington Heights Description: This position provides custodial and personal care services to clients that contract with Assisting Hands Home Care. Education: High School Diploma/GED required; Current Nursing Assistant Certification with the Board of Nursing in good standing. Qualifications: Individual must have successfully completed and provide evidence of formal training and certification as a Nursing Assistant per state law and regulation. One year experience in the home or long"‘term care setting is preferred. Reports to: Director of Nursing. Primary Duties: Maintain a clean, safe, and healthy environment within the client's residence, including light cleaning, straightening living areas, washing dishes, and laundry. Perform all personal care activities outlined in the client's written Plan of Care, including assistance with personal hygiene, ambulation and exercise, eating, dressing, shaving, physical transfers, and other duties as assigned. Provide nutritional support as needed. Report any changes in the client's condition. Assist with and supervise activities directed by a Registered Nurse such as: Use of devices for daily living (wheelchair, walker, Hoyer lift) Prescribed range"‘of"‘motion exercises Teaching household routines and skills to family members Measuring intake and output of fluids, and measuring vital signs (temperature, pulse, respiration, blood pressure) Keeping records of personal health care activities Observing appearance and gross behavioral changes and reporting to the Registered Nurse Assist with self"‘administration of medication within the limits of the agency's policies: Bring and read properly labeled medication containers; help the client access and consume the medication. Record when assistance is given. When appropriate, prepare accompaniment items (juice, water, cups), open/close containers, and assist with the administration process (steady the arm/hand, etc.). Adhere to infection control policies, including proper hand washing techniques consistent with CDC Guidelines. Follow all procedures outlined in the agency's Policy and Procedure Manual, Caregiver Handbook, and Caregiver Training Manual. Hours: Dependent on assignment; shifts available 24 hours a day, 7 days per week. Availability is required; hours are not guaranteed. FLSA Status: Non-exempt, hourly. Compensation: $14.50/hour.
