We thoroughly enjoy putting our depth of knowledge and experience to work to give our clients the edge in their business.As a Senior Accountant, you will be working on both taxes and audits. You will have the opportunity to work on audits and reviews of governments, private and public companies and employee benefit plans of various sizes and industries. You will supervise, plan, and perform audits. In addition, you will be responsible for the preparation of corporate, partnership, trust and individual income tax returns. You will prepare work papers, perform tax research, analyze tax notices and draft responses, and assist in tax planning and the preparation of projections. To succeed in this role, you should have a foundational knowledge of accounting principles with a desire to build your technical knowledge and client relationship skills.GENERAL DUTIESConduct financial statement engagements from planning to report presentation.Preparation of both business and individual income tax returns and identify tax planning opportunities.Prepare general ledger entries by maintaining records and files; reconciling accountsConduct research of various accounting and tax issuesMust be able to work additional hours during tax season, including weeknights and weekends, with compensation.Minimal Travel may be required, with mileage reimbursementIntegrity, credibility, and commitment to Scheffel Boyle's missionJOB REQUIREMENTSBachelor's Degree in Accounting, or a Bachelor's Degree in Business with emphasis on Accounting. 3+ years experience working in public accountingRelevant certification (e.g. CPA, CMA) preferred but not requiredExperience with major accounting and tax software packages including CCH Prosystems Tax, Caseware, Sage, QuickBooks and other applicable software products is preferred.Strong written and verbal communicationEffective time management, strong analytical skills, and attention to detail is pertinent in a fast paced and deadline-driven environmentHave a knack for problem solving and bringing solutions to the table.Desire to be an important member of a large team; working both collectively and independentlyMust have a high level of respect for confidentialityBENEFITSOnly required to work 48 hours in office for tax season/15 days work from home during non tax season.Flexible Spending Account (Cafeteria Plan)Earned PTO for overtime worked during busy season, paid holidays, and vacation/PTO packageCompany-Paid Life InsuranceFlexible SchedulingOutside of Tax Season: Possibility of 4-day work weekShort and long-term disability insurance401(k) with company-matching contribution planMembership reimbursement for approved civic and professional activitiesCompetitive salary packageCPA Passing Bonus with PTO for taking the examContinuing Education provided through corporate programming #J-18808-Ljbffr
