More than 5 million sleepers of all ages have made space for rest with Hatch, with our baby products in 1 in 3 nurseries and our adult product, Restore, taking over nightstands (and TikTok) worldwide.The OpportunityOur Hardware Engineering team is growing and we're looking for a Prototyping Engineer to build and test the development of prototypes for next-generation devices, combining mechanical engineering expertise with electronics and firmware. Join us in our mission to help people get their best sleep by helping build our next generation of smart connected hardware. The ideal candidate will be a hands-on mechanical engineer, experienced with a wide range of manufacturing/prototyping processes, 2D and 3D CAD design skills, with strong analytical and communication skills, and familiar enough with Electrical and Firmware systems to be able to hack together and test complete systems.This role is hybrid-remote, able to be onsite in Redwood City, CA when needed.What You'll Do Within 3 Months:Build out a basic Mechanical Prototype and test LabPerform benchmark and teardown of Hatch and other productsVisit manufacturing partners in AsiaTest and debug prototype productsCollaborate closely with a cross functional team Within 6 Months:Support mechanical design and validation for NPI programsEvaluate new technologies and concepts After 1 Year:Long term path to becoming lead mechanical engineer on an NPI programWhat You'll Bring:Proficiency in 3D CAD Design, ideally Creo or SolidworksExperience in additive and subtractive prototyping and manufacturing processesPassion for exploring and hands-on with new technologies that improve our products for consumersExperience working with a range of materials, eg plastic injection molding, composites, fabrics.Experience with detailed validation of partsData driven approach to problem solvingExperience with high volume manufacturingBachelor's degree in Mechanical EngineeringExperience with Electronic & PCB design, C and/or Python.3-5 years experience developing consumer productsWhy You'll Love Your Gig at Hatch We're a certified Great Place to Work! 93% of our employees say Hatch is a great place to work.
