Contract Audit Manager Contract Opportunity: Audit Manager - California Public Sector (School District Focus) GreenGrowth CPAs is seeking an experienced Audit Manager (Contract) with deep expertise in California K-12 school district audits to support our strategic growth initiatives. This is a high-impact, advisory engagement focused on strengthening our competitive positioning in public sector RFPs and enhancing audit program alignment. What You'll Do You will partner closely with firm leadership to: Draft and refine technical and compliance-related sections of RFP responses for California school district audits Ensure proposal accuracy, regulatory compliance, and competitive positioning Provide subject matter expertise on California Education Code, CDE Audit Guide requirements, and governmental auditing standards Develop audit methodology narratives tailored to California public school districts Advise on audit scope, risk areas, and regulatory considerations unique to governmental education entities Provide guidance related to GASB standards, Yellow Book (GAGAS), and Single Audits (Uniform Guidance) Support quality control considerations for governmental engagements This is a project-based, advisory role. It does not include direct supervision of internal staff unless otherwise agreed. Qualifications Active CPA license (required) 8+ years of relevant audit experience including signing school district audit reports Strong knowledge of California Education Code and CDE reporting requirements Extensive experience with Yellow Book (GAGAS) and Single Audits Experience contributing to or leading public sector RFP responses Strong proposal writing and technical documentation skills If you are a public sector audit expert who understands the California school district landscape and enjoys strategic advisory work, we would welcome a conversation. Compensation This engagement is structured on a performance and advisory basis: $1,000 per successfully awarded RFP (for substantive contribution to proposal development) $125/hour for advisory support, coaching, or technical project work as needed This structure is designed to create flexibility while aligning compensation with impact and level of engagement.
