In this role, you'll guide customers through the electrical upgrade process and help maintain and strengthen our electrical grid through customer-focused and compliance-driven work. The employee will manage multiple projects with critical deadlines while delivering excellent customer service. You will assist customers while contributing to the improvement and reliability of the electrical grid in Southern California. Responsibilities Develop and prepare construction plans, drawings, and circuit maps; design electrical distribution plans, identify necessary resources, provide cost estimates, and ensure compliance with policies, procedures, rules, rates, and completion dates. Perform calculations relevant to design with latest SCE standards, request studies through Engineering when necessary. Interact with a diverse customer base to meet electrical design needs, providing successful outcomes for both customer and SCE. Participate in small to medium-sized residential, commercial, and industrial projects; determine scope of work, method of service, and construction methods for overhead and underground facilities; manage work orders/projects and maintain industry practices and standards. Provide technical support to licensing and certification proceedings related to new distribution/transmission lines and substation sites. Stay up to date on current industry practices, standards, and customer needs. Identify environmental requirements and coordinate required project components with other departments, customers, governmental bodies, and external sources. Support project drawings and budget by monitoring internal and external customer timelines and expectations. Manage multiple projects with project management principles, tools, and techniques under tight time constraints; shift priorities and make critical decisions with minimal supervision; manage project risks, resolve issues, and handle escalations impacting scope, timeline, and budget. Perform field inspections to gather data relevant to the planning and development review process and verify compliance with approved plans. Ensure the protection of physical, financial, and cybersecurity assets, and properly manage private customer data and other sensitive information with highest standards of conduct and integrity. Minimum Qualifications One or more years of experience in Electrical Utility Distribution/Transmission/Telecommunication Design, Distribution/Transmission/Telecommunication Line Construction, or Engineering discipline. Possess a valid Class C Driver's License. Preferred Qualifications Effective communication and customer service skills. Experience in Project Management, including managing scope and timelines. Experience with Engineering Principles, Construction Standards, and industry practices. Experience with systems such as Design Manager, SAP, Autodesk Utility Design, SpidaCalc, and knowledge of engineering principles, resource books, overhead and underground construction manuals. Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook. One or more years of experience developing and designing electrical distribution plans, identifying vital resources and providing cost estimates. Training or education applying technical information related to Engineering, Drafting, Architecture, Construction, Mapping, Design, Mechanics, Mathematics, Science, or IT. Experience with Computer Aided Design (CAD) software. Willingness to lift up to 40 lbs occasionally. Willingness to drive, traverse uneven surfaces, sit/stand for extended periods. Willingness to work in various weather conditions, possibly in remote regions across California for extended periods. Additional Information Work mode is hybrid. Employees will report to an SCE facility for a set number of days with the option to work remotely on remaining days. Employees are required to work and reside in California unless otherwise noted. Position requires up to 40% traveling and field work throughout the SCE service territory. This position has an option for a 9/80 Alternate Work Schedule or 40hrs/5 days a week.
