This is an ideal opportunity for pharmacists from diverse practice settings to experience a rewarding hospital career.The staff pharmacist evaluates providers' medication orders for appropriateness of drug, dosage, frequency, route of administration and potential allergies and clinical interactions. The staff pharmacist makes recommendations for therapy changes to the provider as appropriate and/or manages therapies in accordance with medical staff approved pharmacy management protocols. The staff pharmacist checks all medications that are dispensed by the pharmacy and ensures compliance with all federal and state regulations regarding medications. The staff pharmacist participates as a critical member of the clinical team and practices and promotes safe medication management.Required Education:Bachelor of Pharmacy Degree or PharmDPreferred Education:Residency TrainedPreferred Skills:Adept at Microsoft, Excel, PowerPoint, etcRequired Licensure/Registration Certification:Licensed Pharmacist with the Texas State Board of PharmacyPreferred Licensure/Registration Certification:Sterile IV Compounding CertificationPreferred Experience:One year experience working as a pharmacist, hospital pharmacy experience
