If so, the Disability Evaluation Unit (DEU) at the Department of Industrial Relations (DIR) is hiring a Workers/' Compensation Consultant! DIR monitors the administration of workers' compensation claims and provides services to assist resolving disputes with claims for workers' compensation benefits. As the newest DEU Rater, you will review and analyze medical reports to issue summary, consultative and formal permanent disability ratings, and will calculate commutations involving present value of future permanent disability indemnity.The following describes you:You have a strong affinity for quantitative analysis, appreciating the intricacies of all things numbers, calculations, and percentages.You love presenting your findings in concise and impactful summaries.You thrive in facilitating productive discussions and finding effective solutions.This is a full journey level position, and you will be expected to calculate ratings and commutations of high complexity. As the DEU Rater, you will be an expert resource to the workers/' compensation community on permanent disability rating. Hybrid and flexible work schedules are available with remote work being available up to two days per week.Will also consider a Workers' Compensation Assistant.Effective July 1, 2025, specific Bargaining Units and associated Excluded State employees are subject to a salary reduction between 2% - 4.62% in exchange for hours in the Personal Leave Program 2025 (PLP 2025) per month.
