The OpportunityAs the Project Engineering Manager for Water & Wastewater, you will manage execution of the engineering component of multiple traditional, design-build, design-bid-build, and collaborative delivery projects including advanced treatment facilities, underground conveyance, and carbon neutral solutions. In this role, you will have the opportunity to:Lead a multi-discipline team of engineers and technicians on high profile municipal projects.Supervise and mentor engineering staff, identifying developmental growth opportunities.Manage budgets, scheduling, and correspondence with clients and project management in support of a project.The TeamBlack & Veatch/'s Governments & Community business works to provide innovative solutions and integrated planning, design, and construction support for mission-critical facilities, as well as threat reduction and environmental services worldwide.The Project Engineering Management team is a top-ranked team by ENR for Water Design Firms in Water Supply, Sewer Waste, and other water-related rankings. They partner with clients to align people, processes, technologies, and data analytics to modernize water infrastructure, optimize asset use, meet performance goals, reduce costs, and mitigate risk.Prepare complex engineering deliverables for large or multiple projectsAssist in the research to develop equipment and material recommendationsPrepare complex engineering calculations following standard methods and principlesDevelop and manage project budgets, schedules, and quality requirements across multiple disciplinesLead production teams, coordinate multiple discipline activities, and serve as the responsible charge for a projectClient Interface:Identify key client interests and drivers for moderately complex projectsCommunicate client concerns to project team members and develop solutionsProvide support for business development or pursuit activitiesManage project changes directly with the client under Project Manager supervisionTechnical expertise:Lead large multi-discipline teams to meet project deliverablesProvide input to technical leadership for complex water and wastewater treatment projectsDrive solutions to achieve project goalsManagement Responsibilities:Reviews lower-level engineering work or assignmentsMentoring, and performance management of assigned personnelPreferred QualificationsPE license.Experience executing multi-discipline WTP and WWTP upgrades and expansion projects.Minimum QualificationsRequires a bachelor/'s degree in engineering from either a recognized accredited program in their home country or the country in which the professional is practicing.Minimum of 5 years related work experienceAll applicants must be able to complete pre-employment onboarding requirements (if selected) which may include any/all of the following: criminal/civil background check, drug screen, and motor vehicle records search, in compliance with any applicable laws and regulations.Work Environment/Physical DemandsHybrid or flexible work options may be offered after the first 90 days of employment based upon manager discretion, job performance and work assignmentsSitting/standing/computer usage for extended periods of timeAbility to utilize video/audio conferencing software tools for internal/external communicationTravel to client sitesSalary PlanJob Grade016Black & Veatch endeavours to make accessible to any and all users.
