Job Summary iQ Academy, Los Angeles delivers online/virtual home"‘based instruction to TK"‘12 students in California. We use the K12, inc. curriculum as the basis for instruction and you will teach via a Class Connect Program. Responsibilities Education Specialists are responsible for the specialized academic instruction (SAI) for students with disabilities and for case"‘management duties. You will manage a caseload of students, including scheduling and holding IEP meetings. Your caseload may span a variety of grades, while SAI classes or specialized services within general"‘education classes will target narrower grade ranges aligned to student goals and standards. Most communication is virtual via video conference, teleconference, phone calls, email, and instant messaging. In"‘person meetings and training occur periodically throughout the school year and you will be required to attend. You may also be required to participate in person for state testing at a location near your residence. Qualifications You must live in California and hold a valid California Education Specialist Instruction Credential in one of the following: Mild/Moderate, Mild/Moderate Support Needs, Moderate/Severe Disabilities, or Extensive Support Needs. You must also have California English Learner Authorization and a certification issued by the California Teaching Credential (CTC) to teach ELL students at the time of application.
