Job Description

We are supporting a global CDMO organisation in the appointment of a Head of Finance & Controlling Operations to lead plant finance and operational controlling for a key manufacturing site in Morgan Hill, CA. This is a finance leadership role within a complex, international manufacturing environment, combining hands-on plant controlling with strategic business partnership across operations, supply chain, and site leadership. Location: Hybrid - Morgan Hill, CA (3 days onsite) The Role Lead Finance & Controlling Operations for a CDMO manufacturing site, with responsibility for Gross Profit, COGS, and plant-level financial performance Act as the primary financial advisor to Site Leadership and Operations Own budgeting, quarterly forecasting, and monthly reporting processes, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and adherence to Group standards Drive plant controlling activities including standard costing, BOMs, rates, inventory management, and variance analysis (PPV, manufacturing variances, non-standard COGS) Partner with Supply Chain on make-versus-buy decisions, in-sourcing initiatives, and material pricing strategy Lead financial modelling and business cases for strategic projects and site initiatives Oversee project controlling for major ERP/SAP transformation initiatives Maintain and enhance internal controls and financial processes in line with Group guidelines Serve as local subject matter expert for SAP CO/BW, OneStream, and IBP Lead and develop the site FP&A function, with scope to expand the team over time Required Qualifications Bachelor's or Master's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field CPA, CMA, or equivalent certification preferred 10+ years of controlling experience within a manufacturing and international environment (CDMO experience preferred) Strong plant controlling background with deep understanding of costing, inventory, and operational finance Demonstrated experience partnering with operations and supply chain in a manufacturing setting Strong IT skills (SAP R/3, SAP BW, OneStream and Microsoft Excel, Power Point).
