What you will be doing The Automation Maintenance Specialist is responsible for overseeing the maintenance of automation systems and implementing strategies that ensure operational excellence across all distribution facilities. This role encompasses all maintenance activities related to conveyor systems, robotics, and Automated Guided Vehicles (AGVs), with a particular emphasis on case automation. The position is tasked with developing and sustaining best-in-class maintenance practices, driving equipment uptime, achieving cost efficiencies, and establishing formal training programs and dedicated training centers for internal technicians. This role requires a strong focus on KPI-driven performance, preparation of Quarterly Business Reviews (QBRs), and close collaboration with the corporate automation team on equipment upgrades, parts management, and accurate data entry. Main responsibilities Oversee maintenance for conveyor, robotics, and AGV systems across all facilities. Develop, implement, and continuously improve standardized maintenance practices focused on uptime and reliability. Lead predictive and preventive maintenance strategies for all automation equipment. Manage spare parts inventory and procurement for automation systems. Training & Development Design and implement formal training programs and certification criteria for internal technicians. Establish and manage training centers to ensure technician skill development. Monitor training completion and maintain records of technician certifications. Performance Management & Reporting Define and track KPIs for maintenance performance (uptime, MTTR, cost savings). Prepare and deliver Quarterly Business Reviews (QBRs) with actionable analytics. Maintain accurate data entry for maintenance activities and parts usage. Partner with automation teams on equipment upgrades and technology enhancements. Identify opportunities for cost savings and process optimization. Collaborate with IT and engineering teams for integration and compliance. Proficiency in maintenance management for conveyor, robotics, and AGV systems. Expertise in predictive and preventive maintenance methodologies. Ability to develop training programs and lead technical teams. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with experience in multi-system environments. KPI-driven mindset with experience in reporting and analytics. Excellent communication and leadership skills to manage cross-functional projects. We are looking for candidates who possess the following: Education Bachelor's degree in engineering, Industrial Technology, or related field (preferred). Working knowledge of maintenance operations and industrial automation systems. Experience Seven plus years in maintenance management, with a focus on automation systems. Hands-on experience with conveyor, robotics, and AGV technology. Performance Metrics System uptime and reliability (>98% uptime for automation systems). Reduction in maintenance costs through high-quality maintenance practices. Timely delivery of QBRs and actionable insights. 100% technician certification within defined timelines. Working Conditions Work performed in both office and warehouse environments, including temperature-controlled office settings. Extended periods sitting at desk or computer terminal. Potential hazards from machinery (forklifts, pallet jacks, mechanized systems, trucks, trailers, etc.). Fast-paced work environment Equipment Used.
