Job Summary This position reports to the Executive Director of Analysis, Policy & Technology. The Graduate Program Analyst possesses an in-depth understanding of policies and issues relating to graduate education and postdoctoral scholars, and applies this knowledge to resolve problems that are complex in nature and diverse in scope. Supports Graduate Studies leadership as primary liaison to Academic Senate and Graduate Council for shared governance of graduate education. Supports Graduate Studies leadership by managing processes to appoint graduate group chairs and graduate faculty advisors. Conducts research and analysis on a wide variety of topics in support of new initiatives, and communicates findings in a variety of formats including reports, web-hosted data, presentations, and proposals. Qualifications Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution required and/or equivalent experience/training. Minimum 1-2 years of experience in higher education in a policy, or graduate education-related role. Experience in research analysis, especially in the area of higher education and/or academic governance. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Time management skills to manage, track and work on multiple and simultaneous complex tasks, under competing deadlines. Ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders and maintain confidentiality. Preferred Qualifications Experience with University of California and UC Davis organization, units, resources, facilities, and student information systems including Graduate Studies managed applications systems such as Program and Roles Manager (PRM), Programs Manager, Student Progress Assessment (SPA), etc. Knowledge of UC Davis and UC policies related to graduate education, graduate research, and postdoctoral scholars. Knowledge of UC Davis graduate programs and structures (graduate groups and departmentally-based programs).
