Department SummaryThe Library Analytics, Metrics and Assessment (LAMA) team is part of the Digital Strategies unit. LAMA supports UCLA Library's mission by enabling consistent, targeted, data"‘informed decision"‘making. The team gathers data & assists leadership to identify opportunities to enhance efficiency, optimize workflows, & strengthen the Library's ability to deliver effective, high"‘quality services. LAMA is charged with leveraging technology, metrics & systems for workflow development & enhancement for Library services, establishing dashboards & reports that provide metrics for Library leadership to demonstrate impact & improve services, cultivating a culture of project management by providing resources, consultations, templates & best"‘practices guidelines for the Library, and sharing resources enabling Library staff to gather data that could be used to inform their work.Position SummaryReporting to the head of Library Analytics, Metrics & Assessment (LAMA), the Library Technical Project Manager (LTPM) manages projects at three levels: direct management of projects, coaching for managers of other projects, and assisting the AUL with planning and monitoring the project portfolio. The LTPM performs project management for multiple concurrent technology projects, including software development, systems and data migrations, tool adoptions and deployments. The LTPM works with stakeholders to articulate goals, define scope, and prioritize deliverables; collaborates with project teams to develop project plans; monitors progress during implementation and communicates status with stakeholders, project teams, and Library management. The LTPM works with key library and campus partners to develop and clarify service"‘level agreements to ensure future sustainability and provides guidance to peers in the department leading other projects.Salary & CompensationUCLA provides a full pay range. Actual salary offers consider factors, including budget, prior experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business considerations. Salary offers at the top of the range are not common. UC Benefit package and UC Total Compensation Estimator are available.Qualifications3 Demonstrated experience leading or managing multiple concurrent technology projects using formal methods and communicating with senior stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle. (Required)3 Experience with collaboration tools, including wiki software (e.g. Confluence) and task tracking software (e.g. Jira). (Required)3 Experience working in a library, archive, or museum. (Preferred)3 Experience working with vendors on IT projects. (Preferred)Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both written and verbally to a variety of team members and stakeholders, including technical staff, client stakeholders, funders, and management.
