What You'll Do Perform complete design and engineering for complex instrumentation and control systems Apply advanced engineering techniques and analysis to industrial process and manufacturing projects Serve as discipline lead on small to mid"‘sized projects Develop Instrumentation installation details, cable schedules, control panel layouts, grounding, and instrument plans Control narratives, P&IDs (measurement and control), and conceptual layouts Instrumentation specifications, data sheets, and construction specifications Produce estimate"‘level designs, material take"‘offs, cost studies, and man"‘hour budgets Review and check engineering calculations, drawings, and vendor documentation for accuracy and compliance Coordinate with electrical, mechanical, process, and construction teams Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and designers Support procurement through bid packages, scopes, and technical evaluations Perform fieldwork and construction support, including tie"‘ins and startup assistance Identify and communicate scope, schedule, and design changes Support interoffice execution and lead virtual project teams Ensure work is executed in accordance with scope, schedule, budget, quality, and client expectations Education & Credentials Bachelor of Science in Instrumentation, Controls, Electrical, Computer Engineering, or related discipline Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred, but not required Experience 10-15+ years of progressive experience in industrial instrumentation and controls engineering EPC experience supporting chemical, manufacturing, power, or heavy industrial facilities Technical Expertise Knowledge and application of: ISA standards and industry best practices National Electrical Code (NEC), as applicable to instrumentation systems Ability to: Develop instrumentation installation specifications and construction documents Specify process instrumentation, analyzers, control systems, and actuated valves Size control valves using appropriate software Develop control narratives and contribute to P&IDs Experience with: PLC, DCS, and/or SIS platforms Vendor drawing review and construction submittals Instrument bulk materials and installation details Ability to: Estimate task completion, construction costs, and engineering schedules Develop work"‘sharing packages for interoffice execution Act as Engineer of Record when PE certification is required Strong working knowledge of: AutoCAD and/or MicroStation Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills Locations & Work Model Primary location: Greenville, SC Additional office flexibility: TX, LA, AL, GA, PA Hybrid and interoffice execution support may be available Relocation assistance may be offered for qualified candidates Why Hargrove 30+ years as a trusted industrial EPC partner Long"‘term project stability and career growth Technical leadership opportunities on complex projects Strong interoffice collaboration and employee"‘focused culture Competitive compensation and comprehensive benefits If you're a senior"‘level Instrument Engineer looking to lead impactful industrial projects with geographic flexibility, we'd love to connect.
