Job Title: EHS Specialist Job Description As an EHS Specialist, you will lead the Environmental, Health, and Safety initiatives at our operations. You will be responsible for ensuring environmental and safety compliance, managing personal protective equipment (PPE), updating documentation, supporting injury reporting, and overseeing new hire safety orientation. This role involves collaborating closely with Operations management to maintain safe working conditions and adherence to environmental practices. Responsibilities * Lead the implementation and refinement of EHS initiatives, best practices, and policies. * Communicate with Operations management about performance objectives and compliance issues. * Drive continuous improvement in EHS performance for the Operations. * Guide pollution prevention and waste minimization efforts to reduce facility waste management costs. * Direct facility compliance efforts and move beyond compliance. * Provide EHS support and coverage for manufacturing/warehousing operations across shifts. * Champion the organization's EHS Policies, Procedures, and Best Practices. * Coordinate industrial hygiene exposure monitoring. * Act as a liaison between supervision and personnel for monitoring results and recommendations. * Interface with supervision, managers, and employees on all EHS matters. * Provide EHS regulatory training. * Monitor all Injury/Illness incidents and assist with Workers Compensation management. * Assist with facility incident investigations and return to work programs. * Ensure environmental compliance with regulatory requirements and drive pollution prevention initiatives. * Monitor Contractor Safety programs and compliance. * Participate in facility EHS committee meetings. * Develop Risk Assessments and Job Safety Analysis (JSA's). * Work with site operations on annual improvement planning. * Maintain facility SDS and EHS Management databases. * Support operations with regulatory agencies and inspectors. * Assist with EHS recordkeeping and data management. * Assist with EHS compliance and program audits and aid in successful closure of recommendations. Essential Skills * Bachelor's degree in an EHS-related field. * 2-5 years of EHS experience in heavy industrial and manufacturing sectors. * Knowledge of USA regulations per EPA, OSHA, DOT, and MSHA. * Understanding of Workers Compensation laws. Additional Skills & Qualifications * OSHA 30 certification. * ISO experience. * Strong communication skills with the ability to build relationships. * MSHA experience. * Experience in the heavy machining industry. Work Environment The work environment involves manufacturing of large equipment and motor rebuilds, including metal fabrication, paint, and assembly. The role requires 60% time on the floor with a typical schedule of Monday to Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM, although off-shift work may be required for safety or injury reporting. The facility maintains a good safety record and operates a second shift. Job Type & Location This is a Permanent position based out of Lebanon, KY.
