16th April, 2026High-Level Teaching Required | Project-Based Learning | Dynamic Family Environment The Opportunity: A warm, high-end family is seeking a Rotational Educator-Nanny with a formal teaching background (required) to join their household team. This role supports one school-aged child with nuanced learning and regulation needs and requires a professional who can confidently move between leading education and providing exceptional nanny care.The family is relocating primarily to the New York area, with significant time spent upstate in the Hudson Valley. The upstate residence may represent the majority of the time, though the final ratio between NYC and upstate living is still evolving. This is not a tutoring role. This is not support-only homeschooling. This is a leadership role for an educator who can design curriculum, think creatively, and confidently guide a child's intellectual and emotional development - while remaining adaptable to a household where needs can shift quickly. Key Details Schedule: Rotational, typically 7 days on / 7 days off (flexibility required) Start: Ideally June, with flexibility for the right candidate Locations: NYC Area + Hudson Valley (ratio TBD; upstate may be majority) Housing: On-duty housing provided; candidate must maintain their own off-duty residence Compensation: $140k-$155k+ DOE plus benefits Travel: Travel between residences required; occasional additional travel possible Core ResponsibilitiesEducational Leadership Lead and implement structured learning during homeschooling periods Build and adapt curriculum (even when using an existing framework) Bring a strong educational point of view and professional philosophy Design project-based, creative, experiential learning opportunities Foster executive function skills, emotional regulation, and academic growth Confidently pivot between academic rigor and child-led exploration Maintain firm, consistent boundaries with warmth and calm Model and teach regulation strategies Remain unflappable, grounded, and steady in high-energy moments Collaborate with parents to ensure alignment and consistency Maintain detailed handoffs with rotational counterpart Work fluidly within a high-functioning, evolving family environment Maintain child-related organization and structure Exercise strong discretion and professionalism at all times Required Candidate Profile Certified Teacher (Required) - classroom teaching experience mandatory Demonstrated experience building curriculum and leading instruction Comfortable working in a hybrid educator-nanny capacity Creative, project-based thinker with intellectual curiosity Open to a role that may shift between educator-heavy and nanny-heavy responsibilities depending on the family's needs CPR/First Aid certified (or willing to update) The Ideal Fit The family is seeking a career educator who left the traditional school system intentionally - someone who loves teaching, values autonomy, and thrives in a one-on-one environment. This is not a role for a nanny who "likes education" or has done tutoring. The expectation is professional-level instructional leadership combined with warmth and flexibility.
