SCHEDULE: 40 hours per week, 8 hours per day, Monday Friday, as needed between 6:00 AM 10:00 PM, for 120 workdays annually. Total: 960 hours annually QUALIFICATIONS:Must be licensed as a Registered Nurse in the state of California.Must provide verification of credentials (education, current licensor/status competency, continuing medical education).Must have at least one or more years of experience.Must be Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certified, in accordance with the American Heart Association Basic Life Support.Ability and skill to operate EKG JOB DUTIES: Shall be responsible for, but is not limited to:Provide direct patient care services in accordance with legal, ethical, and institutional standards through the evaluation of patients and therapeutic treatment as ordered by Health Services clinical staffPerform nursing duties within the scope of the current licensureAdminister medications as prescribed i.e., by mouth, intradermal, subcutaneously, or intramuscularlyAssist with distribution of medications at pill lineMonitor and evaluate the response to therapyPerform skin testingProvide diagnostic, therapeutic, and preventive health care servicesTake medical histories, examine patients, order and interpret laboratory tests and x-raysPerform venipuncture for the purpose of obtaining laboratory specimensMaintain accurate logs of all reportsPolicy Screen laboratory tests/results for normal/abnormal lad values and notify the physician or physiciansEnsure all sharps are secured, accounted for, stored and disposed of according to institutional and national policyMaintain patient privacy and confidentialityAdhere to infection control policies and proceduresClinically manage injuries by bleeding control, bandaging, splinting, and immobilizingAttend to medical emergenciesWork collaboratively with the staff physician(s) and consulting physician(s) in planning, instituting, evaluating and revising program plansAssist in determining conditions, resources and policies essential to delivery of the health care servicesDiscriminates between normal and abnormal findings to recognize early stages of serious physical, emotional, or mental problemsManages the daily operation of the clinic and conducts daily sick-call; which may include securing health histories from the patient, recording findings and providing clinical evaluationsProvides a wide range of emergency services, in the absence of the physicianPerform duties as required, but accept only those nursing assignments that are commensurate with his/her educational preparation, training, experience, and licensure lawsPreform intakes on newly incarcerated or transferred inmatesPrepare medical documentation for transferring inmates/patients.
