Position Type: Cafeteria/Lunchroom MonitorDate Posted: 3/24/2026Location: Northlake Middle SchoolDate Available: 2025-2026 School YearClosing Date: Until Position FilledLUNCHROOM MONITOR Effective 2025-2026 School YearQualifications: High School Diploma; previous work with children Reports to: Building Administrators Evaluation: As determined by the District Work Calendar: 174 work days Position Goal: To assist in the supervision of the lunchroom/cafeteria therefore creating a pleasant, orderly and clean lunchroom atmosphere in which students can enjoy their food and companionship of friends Rate of Pay: $16.00 per hour, position is not eligible for benefits The Lunchroom Supervisor shall be responsible for the following duties and perform other duties as assigned by the administrator or their designee: Superintendent/Board: Observe and adhere to all Board of Education policies and regulations, and all administrative rules and procedures Follow all State of Illinois codes relative to the requirements of the food service program including food allergies, FDA rules and Health Dept. Building: Supervise students during lunchtime in the cafeteria and as needed/ directed in the gymnasium, playgrounds, hallways and bathrooms Clean lunch tables every day as needed using the appropriate cleaning solutions and materials Assist in seating students to the extent necessary Provide assistance to students with handicaps Encourage students to eat their lunches Organize the students for an orderly dismissal Maintain a safe environment Maintain a reasonable noise/volume level so as not to disturb other classes and to be able to make announcements if necessary Individual: Exhibit confidentiality in relation to students, parents and staff Remain current in the use of First Aid, CPR, Heimlich Maneuver, EPI Pen and the AED (if required by Administration) Be knowledgeable of and implement the District Safety Plan Physical Requirements: Ability to move tables Frequent and prolonged standing, walking and bending Exposure to noise and activity levels associated with school life
