Managing Veterinarian (MDVM)We are seeking an experienced, collaborative, and people-focused Managing Veterinarian (MDVM) to lead our medical team at Adobe Animal Hospital. This role is ideal for a veterinarian who is passionate about clinical excellence, mentorship, and building a strong, positive hospital culture while continuing to practice high-quality medicine in a hospital setting that provides GP, Urgent Care, and ER services.Adobe Animal Hospital has proudly served our community since 1964 and is a trusted name for Bay Area pet owners. We operate two hospitals in Los Altos and Los Gatos, providing comprehensive medical and surgical care for small animals and exotic species. Job Responsibilities:Provide medical leadership and oversight to ensure high standards of patient careServe as a clinical mentor and resource for associate veterinarians and support staffFoster a collaborative, respectful, and supportive team cultureMaintain and elevate medical protocols, quality standards, and best practicesPartner with hospital management on staffing, scheduling, and workflow optimizationSupport associate development through coaching, feedback, and performance reviewsContinue practicing clinical medicine and surgery as part of your roleCommunicate effectively with clients, ensuring excellent client experience and trustQualifications:Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM/VMD) from an accredited veterinary schoolStrong leadership experience relevant to directing multiple departments in Emergency, ICU, and GP settings.Strong interest in mentorship, leadership, and team developmentExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsCommitment to high-quality medicine and continuous improvementProficiency with veterinary medical software and electronic medical recordsRequired Skills:Ability to lead with empathy, clarity, and accountabilityStrong clinical decision-making and problem-solving skillsAdaptability in a dynamic hospital environmentCollaborative leadership style with a team-first mindsetPassion for developing people and fostering long-term retentionAbility to balance day-to-day priorities while remaining calm, approachable, and supportive-especially when the team needs direction.If this sounds like the next step in your career, we'd love to connect-apply today.
