Job Details Location: Salt Lake City, UT Setting: Pediatric Trauma & Surgery Services Start Date: July 13, 2026 End Date: July 13, 2027 Duration: 52 weeks (locum tenens assignment) Shift: 12-hour day shifts, 3 shifts/week (36 hours/week) Employment Type: Locum tenens / travel healthcare Qualifications & Licensure (Required) Current state license as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN/NP) or licensed Physician Assistant (PA) If APRN: National NP certification (AANP or ANCC) Applicable PA certification (NCCPA) if applicable Master's degree or higher (NP, PA, or equivalent) Eligible for State Controlled Substance License II-V and Federal DEA Certificate II-V BLS for Healthcare Providers required; ACLS, PALS, TNCC, NRP as required by service Minimum 1 year of relevant clinical experience in pediatric acute care, trauma, or surgery (pediatric trauma experience preferred) Strong clinical documentation and English communication skills (read, write, speak) Key Responsibilities Provide primary and consultative management of inpatient pediatric trauma and general surgery patients (ages 0-18) Participate in daily rounding with surgeons, fellows, residents, and the APP team; coordinate multidisciplinary care Perform ER and inpatient consultations: assessment, diagnosis, treatment, admission, and accurate documentation Respond promptly to trauma activations, ECMO activations, massive transfusion activations, and telehealth consultations Educate patients, families, clinical staff, and students; participate in weekly learning opportunities and CME Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to promote evidence-based practice and high-quality pediatric surgical care May participate in research and quality improvement initiatives related to pediatric trauma and surgery Maintain manual dexterity and physical ability to operate equipment, transfer patients, and work in a fast-paced clinical environment Why Apply High-impact pediatric surgery and trauma locum tenens role with competitive pay 52-week assignment offering schedule stability and professional growth Work as an advanced practice provider (NP/PA/APP) within a collaborative surgical and trauma team Live and work in Salt Lake City, UT - access to outdoor recreation and a thriving urban community Apply now to join this pediatric trauma and surgery team in Salt Lake City.
