Packaging Operator at American Staffing, Inc. in Burley, Idaho, United States Job Description Temp to HireBenefits:Medical, dental, vision, AD&D and disability + Health savings account (HSA)Employees qualify for benefits on the FIRST day of the month following the date of hirePackaging Operations: - Set up, operate, monitor, and troubleshoot packaging lines including but not limited to case packers, labelers, conveyors, shrink wrappers, and palletizers. - Conduct start-up and shutdown procedures for packaging equipment following SOPs. - Perform visual and physical inspections of packaged products to ensure proper labeling, sealing, coding, and overall quality. - Accurately record production and downtime data in ERP and batch records. - Maintain proper material usage and staging to support production runs. Safety, Sanitation, and Compliance: - Adhere to all company safety procedures including PPE usage, chemical handling, and lock-out/tag-out protocols. - Ensure work area and equipment are clean, sanitized, and audit-ready at all times. - Follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), HACCP protocols, and SQF requirements. - Immediately report any food safety or quality issues to leadership. Collaboration and Support: - Work cross-functionally with production, maintenance, and quality teams to resolve issues in real-time. - Assist with the training of new packaging operators and floaters. - Support continuous improvement initiatives by participating in root cause analysis (RCA), downtime tracking, and performance improvement efforts. - Assist with equipment changeovers, preventive maintenance tasks, and documentation updates.
