The Ward Clerk through communication, requisitioning, and management of supplies and equipment, compliments the activities of the nursing staff, patients, physicians, other hospital departments, and visitors. He/She performs general receptionist and clerical duties in order to facilitate efficient functioning of the Emergency Department. Minimum Education:High school Diploma or equivalent GEDVocational or AS in Secretarial type positions (preferred) Minimum Work Experience: 2 years experience (preferred)Required Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities:Ability to communicate effectively and document information accurately.Ability to deal efficiently and effectively with a wide variety of individuals.Knowledge of basic medical terminology preferred.Basic computer knowledge is preferred.Hospital clerical background is preferred.Ability to requisition supplies is preferred.
