The candidate will provide support to design projects in the construction phase to ensure deconfliction of issues along with development of design documents. If required, the candidate will be responsible for development and configuration management products and discovery of existing conditions. The candidate will ensure requirements are traceable and transparent throughout the project lifecycle, including design, construction, procurement, startup and turnover to operations. Current project work includes the Fleet Waterline Project.Generate designs related to water distribution systems, water supply, sewage collection, distribution, and treatment, grading and drainage, and pavement evaluation and design. Generate and review the accuracy of design/evaluation calculations, specifications, while engaged in the planning, design, and construction phases of engineering projects. Preferred design software experience includes Flowmaster, Culvertmaster, and Hydrologic Engineering Centers River Analysis System (HEC-RAS).Familiarity with MicroStation/InRoads computer aided drafting applications is required.Work LocationThis position is open to remote working with occasional reporting to NLV/ Mercury on an as needed basis.Term6 month agreement with potential to extend up to 2 years.Minimum Job RequirementsCandidate must be a U.S. citizen.Must have a working knowledge of Federal (including Department of Energy Orders), State, and Local codes and standards applicable to civil engineering design.Familiarity with MicroStation/InRoads computer aided drafting applications is required.Knowledge in estimating and budgeting.Ability to work in a diverse work environment.Satisfactory results of a pre-employment screening, which includes a background check and drug screening.Education/ExperienceCivil Engineer: Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering, or equivalent degree, with a minimum of 5 years combined relevant design/field experience required.Senior Civil Engineer:Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering, with a minimum of 10 years’ experience in design, estimating, specification preparation, construction document preparation, related phases of engineering, and field experience in the inspection of construction projects.Nevada Professional Engineer License, or ability to obtain through alternate state reciprocity, required.Principal Civil Engineer:Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering, with a minimum of 15 years’ experience in design, estimating, specification preparation, construction document preparation, related phases of engineering, and field experience in the inspection of construction projects.Nevada Professional Engineer License, or ability to obtain through alternate state reciprocity, required.Desired SkillsPreferred design software experience includes Flowmaster, Culvertmaster, and Hydrologic Engineering Centers River Analysis System (HEC-RAS)Omega Technical Services is a Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business and a trusted partner to the Department of Energy, Department of Defense, and other commercial clients, supporting mission-critical projects that shape national security and technological innovation.
