Job Description _Roles & Responsibilities:_ The Department of Genetics and Genomic Sciences and the Center of Excellence for Thoracic Oncology in the Tisch Cancer Institute at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai in Manhattan, New York leverage state-of-the-art genetic and genomic technologies with deep immunological expertise to uncover biomarkers of response and resistance to immunotherapies and for the rationale design of novel therapeutic strategies. We are seeking a motivated postdoctoral researcher in the area of Computational Genomics in Lung Cancer Biology and Immunology to work with the Hopkins and Tocheva Research Groups. Through an established pipeline with the Center for Thoracic Oncology led by Dr. Fred Hirsch, we use cancer patient-derived organoid/immune cell culture models to study tumor signaling, tumor-T cell interactions and immunotherapeutic responses at individual patient level. To do that, we leverage high-throughput functional immunoassays with single cell proteogenomic profiling technologies, including RNA-sequencing with surface epitope profiling, TCR-sequencing and high-dimensional cytometry. The candidate should have background/experience in genetic and genomic data analysis, more specifically bulk/single cell RNA-sequencing and WES. They will be a part of a multidisciplinary collaborative environment that includes cancer biologists, immunologists, computational biologists and physician-scientists. Computational experience is key requirement for this position. Duties and Responsibilities: u2022 Lead, conduct and analyze results pertaining to this research project u2022 Maintain and analyze genomics/transcriptomics/proteomics data u2022 Develop and implement algorithms, computational pipelines, statistical methods and software to analyze large-scale human sequencing data and perform integrative analysis u2022 Interpret data, publish and present novel findings at journals and conferences u2022 Collaborate and work together with other team members _Requirements:_ Preferred Qualifications u2022 PhD degree in Computation Biology, Bioinformatics, Human Genetics, Computer Science with strong quantitative background u2022 Experience analyzing large biological datasets u2022 Expertise in high performance or cloud (e.g., AWS or GCP) computing environments u2022 Proficiency in Python and R u2022 Desire and ability to learn quickly, work as part of a productive team, be active team member, think creatively, and apply and design new analytic approaches u2022 Effective oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills Qualifications .
