Job Description

Cabot Corporation is seeking a Sr Tax Manager to join the Tax team at the Boston, MA location.The Sr Tax Manager is a highly visible position within the tax team responsible for ensuring that Cabot optimizes its tax position and meets company objectives. This key position holds a broad range of responsibilities, including U.S. Federal and State tax compliance, tax accounting and global tax operations. Additionally, this role has 2 direct reports.This role is based at the Boston, MA location, but is eligible to participate in the current HybridWorking Arrangement program (Monday/Friday remote and Tuesday-Thursday in office).Develop and implement tax strategies to address new tax laws and changes in the global tax environmentLead U.S. Federal and State tax provision processLead the U.S. tax compliance process, working closely with outside advisorsLeverage emerging and existing technology to innovate and streamline processesAssist with non-U.S. GAAP reporting, including responsibility for non-U.S. tax provision package review and other tasksHold a significant role with U.S. international tax analysis including tax modelingPartner with business leaders, finance, treasury, legal, and external advisers on business and tax planning mattersResearch complex tax issues and prepare technical documentationMaintain a high standard of operational excellence in activitiesExcel in coaching and developing direct reports and junior colleaguesBachelor’s in accounting required; advanced Tax degree preferredCPA is required10+ years’ tax experience in tax compliance and accounting for income tax and a broad understanding of U.S. income taxationExperience with a large accounting firm and/or publicly traded multinational company is preferredInternational tax experience is strongly preferredPrevious experience in a leadership or managerial role is strongly preferredExtensive knowledge of global tax laws and regulations which affect the companyStrong organization and project management skillsExpertise with the various software tools utilized within the departmentExcellent written and oral communication skillsAbility to collaborate in a cross functional team environmentAbility to develop an understanding of global businesses and develop a network of contacts about changing business conditions and strategiesHow We’ll Support Your Success: Dynamic, Flexible, Hard Working, Team Environment - We are busy, collaborative, growing, and we are doing really meaningful work.Hybrid Work Environment- The autonomy to both work from home 2 days a week and develop/sustain colleague relationships in the office 3 days a week.Growth-Training, great peer coaching and support, and the ability to personally grow your influence, your position, and your compensation.Meaningful Work that is Valued- Customers are demanding sustainable solutions without compromising quality or performance.
