Smith is headquartered in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, with approximately 12,000 employees at operations in the United States, Canada, China, India, Mexico, the Netherlands, and the United Kingdom.Primary FunctionCandidate will be responsible for completing training and performing the following job functions:ResponsibilitiesWe are currently seeking a Material Handler/Forklift Driver for our 1st shift operations (6:00am - 2:30pm, M - F with overtime on Saturdays as needed).Safely and efficiently load, unload and move materials using forklifts, pallet jacks, hand trucks and other material handling equipmentAccurately record and track inventory movements in SAPOrganize and store materials in designated warehouse locations according to established proceduresPick and stage materials for production, assembly or customer orders based on work orders or pick listsMaintain a clean, organized and safe work environment, including performing basic equipment maintenance and reporting any safety hazardsCollaborate with other team members to ensure smooth material flowFollow all company policies, procedures and safety regulationsParticipate in cycle counts and physical inventory as requiredOther duties may be assigned as neededQualificationsPrior forklift experience requiredBasic math skills and attention to detail for accurate inventory tracking and order fulfillmentAbility to read and interpret work orders, pick lists and other related documentsBasic computer skills for data entry and ERP systems (SAP preferred)EducationHigh School Diploma or GEDPhysical RequirementsProlonged periods of sitting/standing and frequent bending and reaching.The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds, and with assistanceWe OfferCompetitive compensation package and comprehensive benefits plans which include medical and dental insurance, company-sponsored life insurance, retirement security savings plan, short- and long-term disability programs and tuition assistance.ADA Statement & EEO StatementIn developing this job description care was taken to include all competencies needed to successfully perform in this position.
