Position Summary: The Assistant Manager of Community Engagement willhave primary responsibility for the planning and implementation ofvolunteer projects for all scheduled volunteer shifts. The AssistantManager will also support the duties of Senior Manager of CommunityEngagement as assigned. Under the direction of the Senior Manager ofCommunity Engagement, they will work interdepartmentally with FoodAcquisition, Warehousing and Logistics, Nutrition, and Distribution toensure a quality experience for volunteers, while meeting the productionand project needs of GBFB programs. The Assistant Manager representsGBFB in a positive and professional manner and supports GBFB?s missionto end hunger across Eastern Massachusetts. Role & Responsibilities:Manage volunteer project planning and implementation to meet inventoryand distribution needs at GBFB?s warehouse. Collaborateinterdepartmentally to ensure adequate time for project planning,preparation, and confirmation that inventory levels and distributiongoals are maintained as directed. Manage daily volunteer operations withrespect to greeting, orienting, training, and supervising volunteerprojects as assigned by management. Maintain daily volunteercommunications via phone and email to ensure volunteers receiveinformation in a timely matter. Analyze project efficiencies andmake recommendations to Senior Manager with strategic and innovativesolutions to streamline volunteer tasks. Working within Salesforceplatform, assist the Senior Manager in creating and maintainingvolunteer shift opportunities based on distribution needs of GBFB.Provide additional support to maintain the integrity of the database andreports. Adhere to all safety rules and regulations relative towarehouse safety, food safety, and AIB compliance. Assist with projectsetup, ensuring all required materials are prepared for volunteers.Clearly communicate project training, answer questions, and ensureprojects are completed during assigned shift(s). All other duties asassigned by management. Skills & Qualifications: High School degree orequivalent (required), Associate degree or equivalent work experience(preferred). 3 to 5 consistent years of related experience,demonstrating a commitment to providing quality customer service.Excellent written, oral, interpersonal, and communication skillsincluding public speaking and group training. Ability to lead large anddiverse groups of volunteers while providing guidance and specificdirection on an individual basis. Customer service skills; and apositive and instructive phone manner. Proven ability to work in ateam-oriented environment as a strong team leader. Strong projectmanagement and logistical skills required. Must be comfortablerepresenting GBFB in a positive professional manner in various arenas.Attention to detail and the ability to quickly adapt to evolving needswithin the entire production process is essential. Ability to beflexible while balancing competing priorities in a fast-pacedenvironment. Excellent work ethic, achievement oriented, and sense ofhumor. Physical Demands: Ability to work in an office environment.Ability to sit for up to 3 hours at a time. Ability to stand for up to 4hours at a time. Ability to lift, up to 30 lbs. Work Environment:Onsite: This role follows a fully in person and on-site schedule. Thismeans incumbents in this role will be required to work each workday froman assigned office work location including GBFB headquarters (70 SouthBay Ave) and possibly any other work-related sites.
