Itu2019s Work That Matters. Overview This position is for an Associate Teacher within the Infant Toddler program. Purpose Statement/Position Summary: Under the supervision of CDC Teacher, to help provide developmentally appropriate classroom environment and activities, maintain health and safety of children, supervise activities and support the implementation of the curriculum created by the teaching team. Provides guidance and support for children when working in small group activities. Supervises all children during meal and rest periods. When appropriate, will participate in providing ideas and activities that will enrich the lesson plan and will scaffold each childu2019s learning. May be responsible for supporting the care of a variety of age groups, this may range from infancy through preschool age children. To assist the teaching team in all classroom duties as needed. Schedule: Monday - Friday hours may vary as the team rotates scheduled. You must be available to work any shift between 6:30am - 8:00pm. _The Child Development Center (CDC) is closed major Federal holidays and four days for Professional Development. The center is open year round._ Minimum Qualifications/Work Experience: _Required:_ u2022 Six months (6) of work experience in a licensed childcare center or comparable group childcare program. Education/Licensure/Certification: _Required:_ u2022 Completion of 12 postsecondary semester units in early childhood education or child development from an accredited college or university. For those working in an Infant classroom, must have the 3 specified units in Infant Care and Development. u2022 Alternatively, you can obtain a Child Development Associate Permit issued by the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing. u2022.... Current Mandated Reporter Training _Preferred:_ u2022 Pediatric CPR and First Aid Current Certification, must be current 30 days from hire date. Pay Scale Information USD $43,680.00 - USD $53,581.00 CHLA values the contribution each Team Member brings to our organization. Final determination of a successful candidateu2019s starting pay will vary based on a number of factors, including, but not limited to education and experience within the job or the industry. The pay scale listed for this position is generally for candidates that meet the specified qualifications and requirements listed on this specific job description. Additional pay may be determined for those candidates that exceed these specified qualifications and requirements.
