NaphCare is hiring a Qualified Mental Health Professional (QMHP) to join our team of medical professionals at the San Diego County Jail located in San Diego, CA. Payrate ranges from $45.90 - $48.45/hour.As a Correctional Qualified Mental Health Professionals (QMHPs), you will provide mental health services, including assessments, treatments, and support to the facility residents, while working alongside correctional officers and other medical professionals. This is a unique position where you can make a difference to this diverse population of patients with complex mental health needs.The Qualified Mental Health Professional (QMHP), is responsible for providing performing and documenting mental health evaluations, developing treatment plans, and monitoring progress notes. Additional responsibilities may include and not be limited to:Providing individual and group therapy, including specialized groups like substance abuse or sex offender therapyIntervening in crisis situations, including suicide prevention and emergent mental health needsnotesParticipating in educational and training activities related to mental health care for patients, security personnel, and healthcare staffCollaborating with other professionals, such as medical staff, correctional officers, and social workers, to provide holistic carePreparing inmates for release by connecting them with community resources and support servicesEducation / Licenses / CertificationsMaster's prepared pre-licensed Qualified Mental Health Professional with active, unrestricted associate licensure in CAValid CPR cardExperience / Requirements / Qualifications / SkillsExperience with underserved and marginalized populations, including those with mental health and substance use disordersStrong communication skills and ability to communicate with diverse individuals, including other medical professionals, correctional staff and judgesDemonstrate knowledge of DSM-V / DSM-V-TR criteriaAbility to interpret and analyze data to create treatment plansKnowledge of applicable laws, regulations, and industry standardsAble to maintain confidentiality of all proprietary and/or confidential informationDisplay integrity, professionalism and be able to adhere to a Code of Conduct and comply with all facility(s) correctional healthcare policies, procedures, and legal requirementsMust pass the facility’s criminal background check and drug screeningWhy Join NaphCare?NaphCare is one of the largest providers of healthcare services to correctional facilities throughout the US and we are growing.
