Weekends are mandatory. The technician/tech assistant will coordinate and perform various duties involving patient care and client education.Daily responsibilities include, but are not limited to:Follow digital treatment plans prescribed by DVMSafe and effective patient handling and restraintKnowledge of preventative care and vaccinesCompetency in emergency and surgical care - including IV catheter placementProfessional, compassionate communication with clients and staff.Obtain quality lab samples via venipuncture, cystocentesis, fecal collection, etc.Perform in-hospital laboratory diagnostics including, urinalysis, cytologies, etc.Process lab samples utilizing in-hospital laboratory equipmentUse low stress patient handling techniquesPerform diagnostic radiographsAdminister injections, medications, nursing care as directed by a veterinarianAdminister sedation for minor proceduresAdminister and monitor general anesthesia, if requiredMaintain accurate, complete digital medical recordsMaintain a clean work environment to include following any infectious disease protocols, handling medical/biomedical, and infectious waste appropriatelyYour talent and skill are certainly essential to your success in this role.
