This individual assists the Warehouse Supervisor in managing resources to exceed daily safety, productivity, quality, and delivery goals. The Lead is also responsible for performing and facilitating the completion of a variety of manual and/or automated tasks necessary for the receipt, storage, and shipment of product. This may include functions of receiving, picking, packing, shipping, staging, transporting, storage, delivery, etc.ESSENTIAL DUTIES ,RESPONSIBILITIES: , , , Accountable for employee development, coaching, training and mentoring , , , Perform hands-on training for Warehouse Workers according to proper Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), safety, and quality policies , , , Contribute to achievement of departmental and DC goals, including daily order response, productivity, safety and quality , , , Responsible for leading the daily operation in the absence of the Supervisor, which includes conducting shift-start meetings, managing labor allocation and daily goals according to plan, and supporting team member needs , , , Responsible for ensuring a safe working environment for all employees throughout the warehouse , , , Accountable to support 6S activities (Lean principles) within department , , , Completes process and performance audits within department , , , Participate in kaizen events and projects as assigned with a focus on improving processes; partner with leadership and warehouse team to implement changes , , , Assist in daily operational Warehouse Worker duties as necessary.
