Receive up to 85% of tuition costs covered for approved college courses.What we expect from you21 years of age and have not yet reached your 35th birthday at time of appointment to the Police Academy.Veteran Age Credit: Veterans or eligible spouses 35+ can subtract up to 6 years of military service from their age.Qualify through: A minimum of 60 college credits from an accredited college or university or An honorable discharge from the United States Military, Reserve Component or National Guard after serving a minimum of two years of active duty, or spouse of a disabled or deceased veteran or Have at least 104 weeks of satisfactory employment in one or more of the following occupational categories with no more than 90 days break in service: Sworn Law Enforcement or Corrections, Port Authority of NY & NJ Employee, Licensed Security Guard, or TSA agent.Citizenship: Candidates must be a United States citizen at the commencement of the Police Academy.Drivers License: Candidates must have a current, valid drivers license at the commencement of the Police Academy.Physical Fitness: Candidates must be in condition to meet the required medical and physical standards.
