Description We are looking for a meticulous Accounts Payable Clerk to join our team in Fairfield, California, on a contract basis. In this role, you will play a vital part in ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of financial transactions, including vendor payments and employee reimbursements. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to a dynamic environment within the food and food processing industry. Responsibilities: u2022 Accurately review, code, and process vendor invoices in compliance with company policies and procedures. u2022 Prepare and execute payments using various methods such as checks, wire transfers, and other approved systems. u2022 Maintain and update vendor records, addressing inquiries and resolving payment discrepancies promptly. u2022 Reconcile accounts payable transactions and assist with month-end closing activities, including reviewing vendor statements. u2022 Process employee expense reports, ensuring adherence to company guidelines and policies. u2022 Enter financial data into accounting software systems with precision to maintain accurate records. u2022 Support internal audits by compiling reports and addressing any issues or discrepancies identified. u2022 Collaborate with the team to identify and implement process improvements within accounts payable operations. Requirements u2022 High school diploma required; an associate degree in accounting or a related field is preferred. u2022 Minimum of 1 year of experience in accounts payable or general accounting. u2022 Familiarity with accounting software like QuickBooks, Oracle, or similar platforms is preferred. u2022 Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel, including pivot tables and v-lookups. u2022 Strong organizational skills and attention to detail to ensure accuracy. u2022 Excellent problem-solving abilities and a customer service-oriented approach. u2022 Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
