Job DescriptionAllstate is looking for an experienced leader that accelerates Allstate's move into the public cloud. The position is with the Allstate Cloud Engineering group. Cloud Engineering is responsible for making the cloud seamless and secure at Allstate and Allstate's Family of Companies.The Azure Products Managing Engineer leads a group of engineers as they build, automate and secure Azure Cloud services. The team consists of talented individuals that are passionate about technology and work collaboratively on achieving Allstate's goals. Engineers follow an XP Type mindset, actively pairing throughout the day and across time zones. The Azure Products Managing Engineer works closely with the product managers and engineers to remove obstacles and help the team be as productive as possible.Key ResponsibilitiesLead engineers in overseeing and developing cloud environments and platforms, while aligning them with business and security strategies and requirementsWork closely with product managers to prioritize the backlog and collaborate on Infrastructure roadmapsChampion the engineering practices and help teams define and setup frameworks for infrastructure as code and immutable infrastructure conceptsEstablish the strategy and manage complex technical designs in engineering and operating cloud platform infrastructureDefine and develop new products and services that provides functions- as-a-serviceChampion for the appropriate use of open source and commercial technology based upon industry trends and innovative conceptsIdentify creative solutions for technical challengesKey Qualifications & Technical Skills5+ years of application development and infrastructure engineering experienceExtensive experience leading engineering teams, conducting performance reviews, facilitating one-on-one coaching sessions, and managing HR-related duties to support team development and organizational alignmentDemonstrable experience designing and implementing complex applications and distributed systems into Azure cloud infrastructureExperience with and solid understanding of complex, multi-region, highly available state-less and state-full deploymentsSolid understanding of security and compliance frameworks, standards and implementation in public cloud environmentsExperience with and solid understanding of infrastructure technologies such as network, compute, and storageExperience in infrastructure as code using Terraform, and ARM TemplatesAdept at mentoring different teams across the various engineering practices including extreme programming, product mindset, cloud/as-a-service approach, and infrastructure as codeHands-on style - willingness and competence in producing necessary changes in our infrastructure and processesAble to facilitate diverse teams, time zones, multi-task, and work under pressure to meet aggressive schedule targetsSound ability to communicate and present ideas and solutions effectively across groups of diverse backgroundsAzure Solutions Architect (AZ-305) Certification4 year degree in Computer Science, MIS, or related area preferred#LI-JJ1 SkillsApplication Development, Cloud Engineering, Cloud Infrastructure, Cross-Functional Collaboration, Infrastructure As Code (IaC), Security Compliance Frameworks, Team Management, Technical Strategy, Terraform, Windows Azure CloudCompensationCompensation offered for this role is $125,200.00 - 207,550.00 annually and is based on experience and qualifications.The candidate(s) offered this position will be required to submit to a background investigation.Joining our team isn't just a job u2014 it's an opportunity.
