Job Description The Nuclear Technologist Manager performs comprehensive nuclear cardiology scans based on the nuclear cardiology guidelines and the practice requirements. Manages the nuclear schedule at all sites and ensures and maintains appropriate accreditation. Qualifications + Completion of an accredited Nuclear Medicine Technology program + One year experience in a medical setting or completion of a clinical internship + Must be licensed as a radiologic technologist limited to the practice of Nuclear Medicine. + Certified Radiologic Technologist by American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) Responsibilities 1.Performs comprehensive nuclear stress tests including resting injections and imaging of the patient. 2.Orders and prepares radioactive isotopes, generating the report and disseminating the report to the referring doctor, communicating with the other clinical employees to ensure smooth transition of the patient. 3.Provides management oversight to other technologists including scheduling and quality assurance activities. 4.Maintains accreditation for all sites as well as any other federal or state requirements for the operation of a nuclear laboratory. 5.Ensures all equipment is operating properly. Performs quality control on Imaging and non-imaging nuclear equipment. 6.Performs end of the day survey of the areas, personnel monitoring for radiation and takes corrective actions if readings fall out of range. 7.Responsible for dose administration and calculations, performs QC procedures, has thorough knowledge and understanding of imaging technologies employed, including theory of operation and rationale for QC procedures performed. 8.Performs imaging procedures assigned and prepares results for interpretations, including labeling, formatting and associated paperwork. 9.Oversees stress tests and helps attending physicians in case of stress test related emergencies. 10.Recognizes malfunctioning equipment and performs minor troubleshooting, performs computer processing of acquired imaging procedures; resolves minor technical problems related to image quality and quantitative results. 11.Conducts wipe tests, surveys and waste disposal as required. plies with Federal, State and local requirements and regulatory agencies; maintains a clean, safe work environment and observes safety procedures and testing. 13.Performs other duties as required. -indicates duty is essential as defined by the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) About Us Strength through Unity and Inclusion The Mount Sinai Health System is committed to fostering an environment where everyone can contribute to excellence.
