Responsibilities include providing consultative and endoscopic services in the inpatient and outpatient setting and teaching fellows in an academic environment. The candidate will be eligible for an academic appointment at the NYU Langone Medical School. The primary duties of the Gastroenterologist-Advanced Endoscopist include, but are not limited to: Performing diagnostic and therapeutic upper and lower gastrointestinal endoscopy and colonoscopy procedures. Performing advanced ERCP and EUS (rendezvous EUS-ERCP) as well as other advanced therapeutic procedures. This position is for a candidate who has completed a fellowship in therapeutic endoscopy or is proficient in advanced therapeutic procedures. Growing referrals from other VA hospitals for advanced endoscopic procedures. Providing comprehensive care for patients who have illnesses within the scope of General Gastroenterology and Hepatology. Coordinating activities of other health service personnel, resolving problems affecting patient care and providing appropriate education for the patient and/or family members. Providing comprehensive care for patients who have illnesses within the scope of General Gastroenterology. In addition to patient care, the physician may have responsibilities in other areas such as education and research. Preferred Experience: 2-3 years' experience as an Advanced Endoscopist with experience in performing ERCP and EUS (e.g. rendezvous EUS-ERCP, endoscopic papillectomy, endoscopic necrosectomy) as well as other advanced therapeutic procedures. Experience in performing third space endoscopic procedures such as POEM, endoscopic suturing, pneumatic dilations, radiofrequency ablation. Clinical research experience and interest preferred. Experience as a local site investigator in multi-centered trials in Advanced Endoscopy. Experience teaching on an academic facility.
