Description We are actively working with local clients in the Ventura County, CA area to bring on an experienced Public Staff Accountant to join their Accounting team. A Public Staff Accountant is responsible for providing a wide range of accounting, auditing, tax, and consulting services to clients across various industries. They work under the supervision of senior accountants and managers to ensure accurate financial reporting, compliance with tax laws, and effective financial management. This role is integral to supporting both client business operations and internal organizational functions, ensuring timely and accurate financial processes. Key Responsibilities: u00b7 Financial Statement Preparation u00b7 Client Account Reconciliation u00b7 Audit Assistance u00b7 Tax Preparation and Filing u00b7 Client Support and Consultation u00b7 General Ledger Management u00b7 Financial Analysis u00b7 Compliance and Regulatory Reporting u00b7 Payroll Processing and Reporting u00b7 Special Projects Requirements u00b7 Bacheloru2019s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. u00b7 CPA or CPA candidate preferred. u00b7 1-3 years of experience in public accounting or relevant field. u00b7 Strong knowledge of GAAP and accounting principles. u00b7 Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Microsoft Excel, and tax preparation software). u00b7 Analytical skills with attention to detail. u00b7 Excellent organizational and time-management skills. u00b7 Strong verbal and written communication skills. u00b7 Ability to manage multiple clients and meet deadlines under pressure. u00b7 Experience with audit procedures and tax preparation for both individual and corporate clients. u00b7 Familiarity with various accounting software and enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems. u00b7 Knowledge of current federal, state, and local tax regulations and reporting requirements.
