Heavy Equipment Operator - Excavators & Dozers Location: Midlothian, VA Pay: $22.00 - $26.00 per hour (based on experience) Schedule: Monday-Friday, 7:00 AM - 5:00 PM Assignment: Start ASAP - through end of November About the Role We are seeking a skilled and safety-focused Heavy Equipment Operator to join our growing field operations team. In this role, you’ll be responsible for operating excavators, bulldozers, and other heavy equipment to perform site grading, leveling, and material handling on commercial and residential landscape projects. This is a great opportunity for an operator who enjoys working outdoors, takes pride in precision work, and has experience moving earth and materials efficiently in high-activity environments. Key Responsibilities Operate heavy equipment such as excavators and dozers for grading, leveling, and moving landscape materials. Spread, load, and relocate soil, gravel, mulch, and other products as directed by the site supervisor. Ensure all work is completed safely and in accordance with project plans and timelines. Perform routine equipment inspections and basic maintenance to keep machinery in good working condition. Collaborate with site crews, foremen, and supervisors to ensure smooth workflow. Follow all company and OSHA safety protocols. Qualifications Ideally 3+ years of experience operating heavy equipment (excavators and/or dozers). Knowledge of grading, slope control, and efficient material handling techniques. Ability to read and understand site plans and grade stakes preferred. Reliable transportation to and from job sites. Strong safety awareness and commitment to quality work. Must be able to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
