Given ongoing construction and development plans, our current apartment portfolio of 6,000 plus units is expected to double in the next couple of years and rise to over 12,000 units in the next five years. We're currently seeking an Accounts Payable Specialistto work at our Corporate office in Piscataway, NJMust have property management and construction backgroundThis position is an on-site, not remote.ResponsibilitiesProcess all vendor invoices with appropriate charge codes pertaining to a portfolio of apartment communitiesThree way matching of Purchase OrdersProcess all utility invoices for each property and manage high usage reportsReconcile vendor accountsCorrespond with the properties and vendors on any billing issuesResolve purchase order, invoice, or contract discrepancies and documentationIdentify and process chargebacks to tenantsMaintain utility schedules and monitor vacant units on a monthly basisKnowledge of general accounting principlesEffective organizational and time management skillsDemonstrates a sense of urgency and ability to troubleshoot problems when necessaryAbility to work independently or as a team memberMust be articulate and possess excellent verbal and written communication skillsMust possess high attention to detail and a proven ability to multitaskPrevious Experience DesiredAt least 5 years of AP experience, preferable in property management would be a plus Timberline and/or Real Page a plusExcel a mustMust have property management and construction backgroundEducationHigh School Diploma or HigherIn return, we offer competitive compensation, along with comprehensive benefits, including medical and dental and vision benefits, life insurance,a 401(k) with company match and a corporate team environment with opportunity of advancement.Also includes on-site company fitness gym, discounts on housing and home appliances.
