Production Operator Job Responsibilities Review production documents for job specifications (roll stock, blend, stenciling requirements, quantities, and previous production figures) Ensure all proper materials are placed in the room and inspected before starting the production line (e.g., shippers, blend, roll stock) Verify the machine is turned on, heated to the required temperature, and free of foreign matter before operation Run empty bags to test registration and coding; clean belts if needed Check scale for correct tare weight and confirm fill weights at the start of the run Time the machine for proper line speed; notify supervisor if standard speed cannot be achieved Make necessary adjustments during production; escalate unresolved issues to plant manager if not solved within 20 minutes Follow lockout/tagout safety procedures before reaching into any machine Maintain necessary materials throughout the day’s run; report shortages to supervisor Confirm correct pallet pattern usage; assist in palletizing and inspect wood pallets for proper condition Inspect shippers for correct stenciling and make adjustments when required Assist with rework material and return it into the system when possible Change tote bags as needed, verifying tote ID before dumping into the system Safety & Compliance Requirements Follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs): wash hands frequently, wear clean uniform, maintain hygiene standards Prioritize safety at all times in accordance with company policies Physical demands: lifting generally not required; occasional moving of coffee or tea bags, with forklift assistance available as needed Benefits offered when working with Express Employment Professionals: Medical, Vision, Dental- Benefit Eligibility Express Learn NJ sick leave 401k eligibility Direct Deposit/Money Card INSTANT Referral Bonus Eligibility Access to job openings at hundreds of local, premier employers that are not posted online!
