Qualifications: Reporting to the Vice President of Construction & Engineering, the Director of Construction Services will oversee assigned hotel projects as the construction expert for Hyatt in support of successful new-build project and conversion project openings. This role provides expert guidance and oversight across all phases of hotel construction projects, working closely with the design lead for each project to ensure alignment with brand standards and experience goals. This role is responsible for monitoring 3rd Party Owner project schedules, budgets, and construction progress while coordinating closely with internal teams and external partners. Responsibilities include tracking key milestones, obtaining and analyzing project data and reports, and providing actionable insights to keep projects on schedule and within budget, ensuring each property is delivered to the brand quality expectations in preparation for opening. u2022 Use established standards and guidelines to advise owners and consultants through active listening and thoughtful communication. u2022 Lead project status and implementation reviews and dialogue to assist architects, contractors, and other outside consultants throughout the design & construction process. u2022 Be fully knowledgeable and conversant on Hyatt's established brand components, design documents and technical standards. u2022 Ensure adherence of standards are met in all phases of the project cycle through hotel opening. u2022 Liaise and interface with hotel project team in a collaborative, team-focused manner. u2022 Conduct strategic and valuable site visits both in person and virtually to oversee the construction process and guide projects successfully. u2022 Help determine in collaboration with internal development teams appropriate opportunities, boundaries, and flexibility for projects to be successful. u2022 Be knowledgeable and continue to learn about best practices, industry standards and new products as it relates to hotel design & construction. u2022 Assist in revising, maintaining, and evolving prototypical documentation, standards, and processes. u2022 Work in a cross-functional manner with internal teams to understand managed and franchised hotel design and operations holistically. Qualifications Experience Required: u2022 10 years with long tenure working for or with hotel brands focusing on design and/or construction. u2022 Bacheloru2019s or Masteru2019s degree in architecture, engineering, interior architecture or related field required. u2022 Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, Microsoft Project, Blubeam Revu, Autodesk AutoCAD, Smartsheet Experience Preferred: u2022 construction management experience u2022 Project management experience a plus Key Capabilities: u2022 Strong knowledge of building codes, and related requirements u2022 Ability to build relationships and gain credibility quickly u2022 Resourceful, collaborative nature, team player mind-set, possess a can-do attitude u2022 Excellent communication and presentation skills u2022 Ability to engage confidently with senior executives and influence effectively u2022 Strong organizational skills and detail-orientation with ability to heavily multitask u2022 A natural curiosity to evaluate and analyze business problems from a variety of perspectives u2022 Able to work independently under general supervision for initiative and independent judgment u2022 Ability to travel throughout the Americas approximately 30-40%. u2022 Must understand architectural drawings/specifications and have familiarity with ADA/IBC regulations. u2022 Knowledge of various building types, MEP systems, construction planning processes and cost methods. u2022 Management, people leadership or mentor experience is valued. This position is also eligible to earn incentive awards and an annual bonus. The final pay rate/salary offered to the successful candidate will depend on experience, skill level and other qualifications for the role, as well as the location of the performance of work.
