Lead Android Developer - Hybrid About the role As Lead Android Developer , you will make an impact by executing creative software solutions, designing, developing, and technical troubleshooting with ability to think beyond routine or conventional approaches to build solutions or break down technical problems that power critical business functions. You will be a valued member of the Engineering & Cloud Solutions team and work collaboratively with architects, DevOps engineers, and cross-functional stakeholders to deliver high-quality, secure, and efficient solutions. In this role, you will: u00b7 Lead the design, development, and deployment of native Android applications. u00b7 Implement Jetpack Compose for modern UI development. u00b7 Utilize Coroutines & Scope for efficient asynchronous programming. u00b7 Architect applications using MVVM and apply design patterns for maintainability. u00b7 Conduct code reviews and enforce best practices across the team. u00b7 Collaborate with cross-functional teams including product, design, QA, and backend. u00b7 Integrate with RESTful and GraphQL APIs. u00b7 Manage version control using Git and CI/CD pipelines. u00b7 Optimize application performance and ensure responsiveness. Based on this roleu2019s business requirements, this is a hybrid position requiring 4 days a week in a client or Cognizant office in Miami, FL. What you need to have to be considered: u00b7 8+ years of Android development experience, with 2+ years in a lead role. u00b7 Strong proficiency in Kotlin and Java. u00b7 Hands-on experience with Jetpack Compose, Navigation Compose, and AndroidX libraries. u00b7 Deep understanding of MVVM architecture, LiveData, ViewModel, and Room. u00b7 Experience with unit testing frameworks (JUnit, Mockito, Espresso). u00b7 Familiarity with Git, CI/CD tools, and Android Studio. These will help you stand out: u00b7 Knowledge of design patterns, dependency injection (e.g., Koin, Hilt), and modular architecture. u00b7 Experience with Firebase, Crashlytics, and performance profiling tools. u00b7 Strong communication and leadership skills. u00b7 Stay current with Android SDK updates and emerging technologies. Salary and compensation: The annual salary for this position will be between $81,337 to $141,500 depending on the experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate. This position is also eligible for Cognizantu2019s discretionary annual incentive program and stock awards, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizantu2019s applicable plans.
