Motor Vehicle Operator at Air Combat Command in Mountain Home AFB, Idaho, United States Job Description Summary About the position: This position will be assigned to Child and Youth Services in Mountain Home AFB, ID. This is a Flexible position with no guaranteed hours, but may be scheduled up to 40 per week. Light physical effort in reaching, bending, turning or moving hands, arms, feet and legs. Frequent handling of objects weighing up to 40 pounds, and occasionally up to 50 pounds. Lifting and securing safety chains, towbars, and hooks. Responsibilities Operates a variety of vehicles including pickup trucks, panel trucks, flatbed trucks, carryalls, sedans, crew cab pickup trucks, jeeps, and station wagons that weigh up to 10,000 pounds. Transports personnel, supplies, materials, or equipment throughout rural and/or urban areas. Loads and unloads vehicles by hand ensuring cargo is protected from weather and properly distributed and secured to prevent damage or loss in transit. Ensures that equipment being towed does not exceed the maximum weight limit in accordance with local and Federal regulations. Performs operator maintenance and washes vehicles. Completes records and accident reports. Performs other related duties as assigned. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Qualifying Experience: Must have skill in maneuvering and driving vehicles weighing up to 10,000 pounds. Must have knowledge of defensive driving techniques and regulations. Must have skill in securing cargo for transit and knowledge of vehicle weight limits. Must possess a valid driver’s license. Must be able to frequently handle objects weighing up to 40 pounds, and occasionally up to 50 pounds. Must be able to exert light physical effort in reaching, bending, turning, or moving hands, feet, and legs to operate hand and foot controls. Education Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. This position does not allow for education substitution in order to qualify. Additional Information Child Development Program will provide 100% child care fee discount for all CYP direct care staff for the first child enrolled in a full-time or regular part-time DAF CDP. A 25% discount will apply for any additional children of direct care staff. Direct care staff must spend a minimum of 75% of their work schedule in the classroom and flex employees who average 15 hours a week. Please contact local NAF HR Office for additional information.
