Peraton is seeking a Usability Manager to join the team in support of a development environment to help drive system innovation for related services, developing testing methods and solving usability problems.Responsibilities:Requires a broad understanding of all the components of large consumer facing web applications.Participates in all phases of development from definition and design through implementation, unit test and deployment.User Interface design and development.Develops and executes meticulous automated unit tests to ensure quality releasable software. Participates in code reviews.Assists in defining structured practices especially in source code management, build and release management. Participates in usability reviews and leads improvements in front end design.Must be able to translate high-level requirements into interaction flows and artifacts, and transform them into beautiful, intuitive, and functional user interfaces.Collaborates with product management and engineering to define and implement innovative solutions for the product direction, visuals, and experience.Executes all visual design stages from concept to final hand-off to engineering.Conceptualizes original ideas that bring simplicity and user friendliness to complex design roadblocks.Creates wireframes, storyboards, user flows, process flows and site maps to effectively communicate interaction and design ideas.Presents and defends designs and key milestone deliverables to peers and executive level stakeholders.Conducts user research and evaluates user feedback.Establishes and promotes design guidelines, best practices, and standards. Solid experience in creating wireframes, storyboards, user flows, process flows and site maps.Proficiency in Photoshop, Illustrator, OmniGraffle, or other visual design and wire-framing tools.Proficiency in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript for rapid prototyping.Experienced working in an Agile/Scrum development process.Skills:Strong customer service and communications skills, both oral and writtenStrong critical thinking skills that facilitate expedient problem solvingStrong video network administration, documentation and debugging skillsExpert in usability testing methods such as card sorting, heuristic evaluation, surveys, and user interviewsProficient in design tools including Figma, Adobe XD, Sketch, InVision, and MiroDeep knowledge of Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 2.1 and Section 508 standards for accessibilityAble to design wireframes, mockups, and prototypes that support both user needs and business objectivesDemonstrated ability to solve complex usability problems and lead research initiativesStrong leadership and mentoring skills, with experience guiding UX teams*This position is contingent upon Peraton receiving an awardMinimum of 12 years with BS/BA; Minimum of 10 years with MS/MA; Minimum of 7 years with Ph.D, 16 years with HS DiplomaDegree in and IT or math related field/or equivalent years of experienceAbility to obtain a Public TrustMust be a US CitizenExperience in the use and deployment usability related techniquesMust hold a current professional UX Certification (e.g., Nielsen Norman Group, Human Factors International (HFI), or equivalent)Peraton is a next-generation national security company that drives missions of consequence spanning the globe and extending to the farthest reaches of the galaxy. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual’s experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations.
