This is a strategic opportunity to shape the future of law enforcement technology while ensuring compliance with FBI CJIS Security Policy and public-safety IT standards.What’s in It for You?Strategic Leadership - Guide the modernization of critical justice systems like LEIN and ALIASRemote Flexibility - Work from anywhere with occasional onsite collaboration in Lansing, MIMission-Driven Impact - Help protect communities by improving law enforcement data systemsCross-Functional Collaboration - Work with technical, operational, and leadership teamsHigh-Visibility Role - Serve as the liaison to CJIC’s leadership and IT security teamsYour Role & ResponsibilitiesLead CJIS domain analysis for LEIN and ALIAS systems, identifying architecture, data flow, and compliance gapsAdvise business process and IT teams on CJIS Security Policy and modernization requirementsConduct stakeholder interviews and readiness assessments, translating findings into actionable recommendationsContribute to Phase Zero deliverables including current-state analysis, gap report, and modernization roadmapDevelop security and compliance narratives for proposals and final deliverablesCollaborate with the Project Manager and Change Management Lead to integrate technical and organizational findingsServe as liaison to CJIC leadership and IT security teamsSkills & Experience You Should Possess10+ years in IT consulting, system modernization, or operational consulting for law enforcement or criminal justice systemsDirect experience with CJIS-compliant environments and law-enforcement data systemsHands-on understanding of CJIS Security Policy controls (authentication, encryption, data access)Experience performing readiness and feasibility assessments for large-scale system rewrites or replacementsStrong stakeholder facilitation and presentation skillsEligible for (or current) CJIS background clearanceBonus Points If You Have:PMP, CISSP, or equivalent certificationsExperience working with state or federal law enforcement agenciesFamiliarity with LEIN, ALIAS, or similar law enforcement systemsExperience contributing to modernization roadmaps and compliance documentationEducation & Certifications You Need:Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Criminal Justice, or related fieldPreferred certifications: PMP, CISSP, or equivalentWhat We OfferAt Trissential, we value expertise, innovation, and collaboration.
